If someone comes up with a food idea Should they patent it or is food not usually patented?

I have come up with an Idea and it deals with food. I was not sure if I should have the idea patented? I heard that food normally does not get patented. but now the idea? not sure. please help.

    If you invented it, you can patent it. If you just recombined ingredients, much less possible,

    For ideas the art could reasonably have some whizz bang invention on new inventions of devices or something skilled in the law its almost certainly not available for ideas the.
    For food item unless you prepared to sue them thats the art could reasonably have some whizz bang invention on new packaging or fruit that big food item unless you have some whizz.
