Why would a restaurant put non pitted olives in a risotto?

Posted on timeApril 3rd, 2009 by userpcgumban

Bean asked:

Wouldnt it be more enjoyable not to have to deal with getting pips out of olives when eating a meal like risotto or pastas?
Is it just the restaurant being cheap or is it a sign of a delicacy? Like when meat is left with the bone protruding out?
